Hi,
I am going through the same thing right now. I tried to upgrade to Win 98 but it
would not let me. I then tried to uninstall windows 95 but it was not available
to unistall from the add and remove part of the control panel nor could I find the
uninstal.exe file on the cd or boot disk. I am now reinstalling the 95 just to see
if it will put back the unistall file so that I can then unistall it. What a pain
in the ..., I will let you know if this works. I could give you my product code
for win 95, but I do not think would work with another disk. If the disk came with
the computer that you are trying to install it on, and you know the info of the buyer,
you can call that company and they can give you a generic code to use. Example-
my boyfriend had a gateway w/win 98 but lost the prod. number which he of course
did not realize until he had already reformatted the hard drive and started to reinstall
the 98. He call gateway and gave him his name and the serial number of the computer,
they then gave him 2 product numbers to use. The first one worked. Hope that helps.
