I too am having the same problem, and have been for some time, and get this a few
nights ago, I had a virus hit me, I went in and did a clean install, cleaned th drives
and everything, the Windows 98 nstallation went real good and everythin on my machine
is working like a charm. I thought that well, if I lost everyting, that certainly
that message would not come back up, well sure enough, I tried to install the software
and drives for the Paperport 7600USB, and when it got done, here comes that same
old message. Somebody has got to know what to do to get rid of that. Whatever it
is it is blocking the complete installation of the scanner, so therefore we of course
cannot use it. I too do not want to buy another one, as this one has hardly been
used. Certainly there has to be another way than buy another one to get rid of the
MAXKERNL.DLL.
I appreciate any help y'all can give,
Kaylo
