I have booted up in Safe Mode and also removed ALL files from the C:\Windows\Desktop directory and I still get this error message. I assume that explorer is reading some path that is too long but, having only a command line to work with, it will be difficult to find the offending path. Are there any other files, directories, links, etc. that I should look at?
