Fussy sound drivers

My sound drivers are the fussiest drivers I've ever dealt with.
Usually drivers can be installed by:
Right-clicking on the appropriate "INF" file, and then selecting INSTALL, or
Using the Windows hardware installation wizard, or
Using the manufacturer's installer EXE file.
My sound drivers can ONLY be installed using the manufacturer's EXE installer, and
about half the time that results in a "conflicted" installation. If there is already
a CONFLICT, the EXE installer will not fix it.
Try removing all the devices with the YELLOW EXCLAMATION marks before you start your
installation.
If you're not sure you've got the proper drivers for your sound card, and aren't
keen on opening the case and poking around inside to see if you can read a manufacturer's
name and model for the sound card, you might try using a "system snooper" which can
sometimes detect the type of hardware in the case. Remove all the CONFLICTS first,
so the snooper isn't returning information for badly installed drivers.

Good luck.
