Your half way home. You can reset the bios passwords. For most techs this is easy.
If your not a tech type you have a few choices. Have that friend that is vist you
( have pizza and beer on hand) and he/she will reset it quickly while gulping down
the brew.
OR if you you want to try it ...... Unplug the power cord from the PC. I don't expect
you to have an anti static strap handy so be sure to keep one hand on the chasis
while performing this feat. Pull the cover off of the PC. Next look for the cmos
battery. its round and shiny like a nickle. Near the battery you will find what
looks like 3 prongs. It may be printed on the board CMOS battery or BIOS reset.
A plastic jumper will be attached to 2 of the 3 prongs. Reading from left to right
if the jumper is on prongs A-B then move the jumper to prongs B-C. Wait about 60
seconds and move the jumper back to A-B. If the Jumper is on prongs B-C then move
it to A-B. Wait about 60 seconds and move the jumper back to B-C. Reinstall the
power cord and restart. If all went well you will be resetting date and time on
your PC and on your way. If we missed then you will still stuck at the password.
HEH, I'm guessing the guy that set the password did more harm than good.
BTW Win95 is still quite useful, just the USB capability was in its infancy and some
USB devices may not work.
