Dear Jerry, thanks for your help. I now can access the desktop, even though I encounter a problem with the antivirus program. I don't know if it's related or it coincidentally happened at the same time as the problem with the monitor setup. I'll post my quiry about the problem with the antivirus. Thanks again. Nick
