Computer sound issues

I have an hp computer@ 200mghz 32mb ram.
I have A soundblaster 16 1740 sound card installed. i located the drivers and installed
it but i still the the "!" next to the hardware. My friend told me it was because
i have 2 different sound cards. I have the one that came with it, which i do not
know model nor type, and the SB16.
Can anyone help me solve this problem,?
