I'm not at all sure I know what the first CD you referred to amounts to. There were
three main versions of Windows95 (and the "usual" sub-types) before it was replaced
by W98. I don't recall any (from MS) called "System CD"; that is probably from the
PC's manufacturer. The final one from MS was referred to as "OSR2". Office97 is
not part of the Windows95 install. It is entirely separate.
By sub-types, I refer to the "Full", "Upgrade", and "OEM" varieties of a MS OS release.
Whoever installs an OS on the PC you want to give away needs either the Full version
or both an Upgrade version, plus an original DOS distribution disk or an original
Windows 3x disk (the latter disks being floppies, not optical "discs").
So far, I really don't know much of anything about the first two of the three CD's
you are starting to tell me about, so I can't answer you immediately. I hope you
aren't terribly anxious about this matter; I don't look into this Annoyances forum
very often (there's just not much going on here).
