Hi Don,
Got to keep the steaks in the fridge for a few more days. Here's the deal. The
computer that I used to create these Works files is old, very old. After I reformatted
the hard drive on that old computer, I lost all programs, of course. I didn't have
a CD (or floppy for that matter) with Microsoft Works on it to reload the program.
I guess Gateway just failed to send it originally.
My newer computer (1 year) doesn't have Works at all on it. From the drop-down menu,
I had already tried opening as Microsoft Works 4.0 with no luck (as reported in earlier
post). I tried what you suggested and downloaded the Converter and then had the
additional choice of Microsoft Works 6.0. Guess what? Won't work. Now I've said
all that to lead to these questions: Could I possibly have had an earlier version
than 4.0 on that old computer? Could it have been Works 5.0 (my kind of luck)? What
is the meaning of life?
You've been very helpful and I appreciate it. Got any more ideas? If not, thanks
so much for trying and I hope Microsoft always treats you well.
