It is best to keep all of your questions in the same set, and not start a new message
thread. It's also so very much harder for anyone reading your query to try an answer
when you don't offer any details. We are less likely to know what that "2850" model
number represents than Acer is, but you should have *SOME* idea, surely,
what cpu is in it, and how much RAM, and probably the speed of the cpu. But so far
you left that out of this thread.
You also offer no details about your own trouble-shooting efforts up to this point.
Yes, a regular OS CD might be helpful, if the CD's you have are something else.
