setup ask for a password

I work for Gods Helping Hands of Mecosta Co. Mich.
We get many Donated items for resale so we can provide the poor with help. I work
at the electronics bench. I have an older Packard Bell Force 2460 so very clean,
but will make some child very happy.
When I turn it on, the setup stops and ask for a password, of which we do not have,
and party that gave it to Gods Helping Hands did not leave a name.
Is it possible to over ride a password and then clean the hard drive to Sell. Thank
