I have an old laptop that until recently was working well using windows 95. I am now getting the messages of registry/config error due to missing/corrupt files himem.sys, dblbuff.sys, ifshlp.sys, and win.com. I have had this before on another PC and was able to correct it with a boot disk. The problem is this laptop has no floppy disk drive! I have little experience with Windows 95 and I don't have the original WIN95 Cd. I would have no problem formatting the hard drive and erasing everything.I would like to install windows 98 on this computer but I can't get past the start-up screen... Any helpful advice would be greatly appreciated.
