Hi Jesse:

Bad malware infestations often hook so deeply into
Windows System components, it's virtually
impossible to restore them to working condition.
It's often easier to reinstall Windows.

Remember, you don't have to re-format the hard
drive and lose all your data, although if you can
backup the data first by putting the hard-drive
into to another computer, that would be a good
idea.

Often you can reinstall Win95 "over the top" of
the existing installation, repairing it.

You can also boot into DOS with a floppy boot disk
which includes DELTREE. You only have to remove
the C:\WINDOWS folder, and you can start a
complete, brand new Win95 installation. The
installer will leave all the other folders intact,
but you will have to reinstall your other
applications, even though they remain in the
C:\Program Files folder. The new Win95
installation won't know they're there until you
reinstall them.
