Hi Lee:

I meant 
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM.DA0
(the last character is a zero).

I don't know how it works in Win98, but in
Win95, SYSTEM.DA0 and USER.DA0 are created at each
successful bootup.  SYSTEM.DAT and USER.DAT are
updated continually as you go through the day
using Windows, but SYSTEM.DA0 and USER.DA0 are
not, and their time stamps should show the last
time Windows was loaded successfully.  Compare
that time with the current time, and you'll know
how long this instance of Windows has been
running.
