You have not said the manufacturer or model number of your CD-ROM drive, but the
"Banana" driver was used on Panasonic and Matsushita drives. Copy and paste the URL
below into your the address bar on your browser and when the page comes up look in
the upper left hand corner for the link to CD593B.ZIP. The file is only about 100K.
This is a DOS driver, and comes with an executable install file and instructions.
I checked the site and the download today and they are still good. The file dates
are 1995 and 1996. With a blank hard disk you don't have much to lose by giving it
a try. Unzip the files to a floppy or to the hard disk and run install.exe
