Wow thank you Jerry, if this was for me then i would do that everytime.... but I need to make this a little more simple, target user is 70 year old and the program prints or dos prints to a dot matrix printer or older type printer as you probably knew and the need to get away from them. I have to travle to get to the place to work on the system so i would like to get as much info as i can before going again. now i can input a code to start the program as soon as the pc starts up so it doesnt just go to c: it loads c:my prgram... so i am thinking i can put this c:\report.prn or somthing like it into the same .bat file that I put in the program to automaticly load up. also if i got the dosprnt to print to a file on drive c: i should beable to see it threw windows xp as a file threw the NIC and move it over then print .? Sorry i have looked threw these prgrams and most the print files is you run it on a windows machine not a straight dos machine but this prnt2file looks to be just dos. thanks jerry
