I've been poking around a bit more regarding this (as I'm about to get involved myself
with a PCMCIA-SD memory card adapter, albeit on WIN98) and I've noticed that there's
a generic PCMCIA driver (well, .inf file) in precopy2.cab on the Win95B CD.
I'm wondering if you were to 'install new hardware' and direct the install to precopy2.cab,
or even extract the .inf file to a convenient directory beforehand and direct the
install there ...
Another thought is - could you substitute the PCMCIA.inf file from Win98 - or are
the systems significantly different ? (I'm well out of my depth here ...)
I've done a 'compare' between the Win95 and Win98 PCMCIA.inf files and there are
many similarities - but one difference is that the Win98 version refers to a .cat
file which doesn't appear to exist in Win95, so that may not work.
The solution I've adopted thus far regarding my own insolvable USB and PCMCIA problems
is to admit defeat and run Win98Lite on the problem machines, but maybe that solution
doesn't appeal ?
