Win 95 osr1 does not support usb, but all of the other versions do. if you have the
oem cd of win95b osr2 or the upgrade its on the cd in the /other/usb dir just click
setup
problems: usb is an enhancement to low level services and microsux disn't EVER get
it quite right, so even though the new usb standard is so much faster ms has deliberately
excluded it from xp and the other 3 new versions of windows. besides B>G> has recently
invested in hardware of the non usb type. don't despair! you have to start with a
clean version of win 95 no other software or updates allowed then put in USBSUP.EXE
then mb/oem drivers then regular drivers then windows patches and upgrades then etc
if you have more than 1 usb port you can hotswap but if you have more than 1 usb
bus you need to reinstall the drivers for the usb hardware and disable them off the
other then it works fine
i wuz all over the net 4 months lookin 4 info on this, denada,... i figed it out
the hard way it sounds hard but it is easy i have 3 built in usb buses and one add
on bus 4 a total of 8 ports and they all work fine, ive fixed like 25 systems with
the same problem :)
good luck!
