I am unable to play midi (.mid) files on my computer using Win95 Media Player. Media Player will play .wav files and CD Player works ok. To try to remedy this I : 1 - removed and reinstalled Media Player 2 - tried to follow the following procedure from the Mwave readme file that I found on the computer Q: Why don't I hear any sound when playing a MIDI file with Windows 95's Media Player? A: You won't hear any sound when playing a MIDI file if your MIDI drivers have not been configured for Mwave. To make sure that Mwave is prop- erly configured: 1. Select Settings from the Start menu. 2. Select the Control Panel. 3. Select Multimedia. From the multimedia screen, select "MIDI". Select "Single instrument" and highlight "Mwave MIDI Synthesizer". I was unable to highlight "Mwave MIDI Synthesizer" since my two choices were "MIDI for Mwave Midiport Device" and "MIDI for Mwave Midisynth Device" If I select "MIDI for Mwave Midiport Device" - Media Player appears to work (the time slider moves) but no sound comes out. If I select "MIDI for Mwave Midisynth Device" - Media Player pops up the message: media player MMSYSTEMOO3 The driver was not enabled I bought the computer used - any help you can give me on this problem will be greatly appreciated.
