Question about 'What to do about error messages during Windows startup'

I have a question about What
to do about error messages during Windows startup:When I start my computor
it runs through the standard screens and gets to the windows 95 screen. It then briefly
goes back to the black screen and say's -tarting(yes tarting 'no s) windows 95 Bad
command or file name.It finishes loading and works reasonably well but...it wont
run disk defrag scandisk and it also won't run solitair sometimes.
