You stated:
"I would like to know wher to go in win95 to shut off programs you don't want to
run at start up ?"
The only thing "msconfig" does is give you one Window access to 5 places where programs
may load upon "Start up". In Windows 95 check out your Config.sys file, Autoexec.bat
file, System.ini file and Win.ini file. The fifth place is in the Registry under
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion". Look for the folders
"Run" and "RunServices". Delete what you want.. but know what you are deleting.
Backup your Registry before you tamper with it!!!!
