When filling out an on-line registration form the taskbar on the Windows desktop jumped to the right hand side of the screen and now it's on the left. Cannot restore to its original setting at bottom of screen. Why has this happened and how to I get out of it?

You should be able to click-left, hold and drag the taskbar to top, bottom, left, right to put it on any side you like. This should get it back for you. So far as why? Not really sure. Seen keyboard or mouse buttons begin sticking berfore or you may want to scan your system for viruses. Hope it helps.

The solution suggested below did not work for me - until I managed to WIDEN the task bar, to get clickable space next to the START button. Phew! (Thanks for guiding me to believe it would pay off to persist.) AMR
