Use "Letter Assigner" by Vadim Burtyansky. Worked great for me. No registry fiddling. A google search will reveal several download places.

Aaah, ok. Thanks Can't that be done in device manager using device properties if it's done in the correct order?

Not always in Win95 anyway. Probably others too.
