Uninstall Win95

I am trying to install Win98 on my machine. As a first step I try to uninstall Win95 am getting message "Will permanently delete master disk control from your hard drive" do you want to continue? I do not understand what this is going to do, I am reluctant to continue. Anyone know if I should continue and why?

you don't unistall win 95 you use a boot disk and format the drive then install 98
