Question about 'Troubleshooting Driver Problems'

I just recently(few hours ago) downloaded new video driver for my ancient NEC READY
9701 system. My NEC has a ATI MACH64 card. Anyway, when I told it to update it it
basically said, yea, this is a newer version of the drivers I use. I'll take it.
But while loading or installing or whatever it said it could not find ati3dcif.dll.
Now, can anybody please tell me what that is and what can I do about it. Any help
I would greatly appreciate.

This is what the version of 'ati3dcif.dll' says for my ati rage vid adapter = ATI
3D CIF driver. It should be in your C:\windows\system folder. Try pointing to that
directory when the installer says it can't find it or add it to that directory from
your original ati driver install disk, if you still have it.

Thanks for the help. I have another question if anyone can help me. Can I pull it
off the System Restore disk or is it on Windows Companion CD? My system is a prepackaged
OEM system and no ATI disk came with it. Thanks. You guys are the greatest.

Hey, I remember this question. My driver file I loaded came with these files it needed.
But when it was looking for the folder it put junk info on the end of the file name.
Had to cut off the garbage bits to get 95 to stop giving me errors. After that it
loaded the necessary files from the place I wanted it to look into and everything
was ok.
