Control Panel window opens up OK but when I double click on any of the icons in Control Panel the new window opens up for about a second and then disappears. Very frustrating because I can't change any settings. How do i fix this problem

Run a virus scan. Also do a search for a file named system2.exe if found rename it to system2.xxx and then reboot. Then go to the run key in the registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and remove the reference to system2.exe
