My cousin has win98 on her computer and she's got the cd and book that came with
the computer. Is it possible to use that cd to maybe upgrade my computer to win98?

Not unless you've got your own Product Code to go with it.

I have the same question - and I DO have the product code. Wondering if anyone can
tell me if there is a risk of data loss if I upgrade from 95 to 98?
I have .docs, exls. etc. that I wish to keep. Will my data and settings be lost if
I use the 98 disc to upgrade from 95?
THANKS

re: There is ALWAYS an element of a gamble!

Windows, all versions, is complex, huge, and contains a goodly share of bad code.
You always take a chance that an upgrade will fail disastrously, and should
always have backed up anything you can't afford to lose.
That said, one of the best reasons for multiple logical disk volumes (partitions)
on a hard drive is to protect the data from an OS upgrade gone wild. That's only
one reason. Simplified backup requirements is an even better reason.

You will not lose anything at all - everything will switch over to 98 without a hitch.
