Temporary Internet Files invisible won't delete

Hi,
I tried to help a friend with Windows 95 to clear his huge Temporary Internet Files
folder. I selected all and deleted them. They all disappeared but none were to be
found in the recycle bin. When I checked the properties of the folder it showed
72 MB, but no files are visible in the folder even though the show hidden files option
is activate in the IE settings.
Any ideas of what to do, without reinstalling the system software?
Thanks,
Edwin

That 72mb is the index.dat file. It is a hidden and system protected file and
can't be deleted in windows but can be cleaned out using CCleaner. CCleaner can also
cleanup a lot of other crap. In ccleaner don't run the Issues applet unless you know
what you are doing.
Download / install / run:
CCleaner
