i cannot get my cd rom drive to work while in dos somehow i have corrupted my registry. i can only access dos. i have a system recovery disk but cannot get it to go. can you please help me

When you say DOS do you mean true DOS when you start your computer and presss F8 
to find DOS. Or do you mean Command.com DOS?

To find your CD Rom in true DOS startup you will need to load your CD Rom drivers 
into your Config.sys and Autoexec.bat files.

First, check your OEM recovery disk to verify the version [95A or 95B]. You can download either version boot disk from http://www.nerdlabs.org/ bootdisks/ There bootdisks have generic DOS cdrom drivers and they are free. I would also check that your BIOS boot priority is set to A:\floppy drive first. Good luck
