To insert a upgrade win 98 to upgrade my IBM Activa computer with Win 95 on it. As has 132 mhz cannot download ME or new Win 200 purchased last month from a comp. shop near me. No cash refunds. Can trade for a win 95 or Win 98 upgrade if can find someone on a chat line or on line site. Microsoft says that is ok. But my computer has problems with DLL and downloading connected to more than just internet explorer 5.5. Best told by few persons to find another win 95 or upgrade this dinasaur with 48 rams with win 98. Where look to connect on something as this suggest? I have done upgrades of win 95 serv. pack 1, win lock, and other microsoft sug. and in this online messages on sim. comp. problems. I find $50.00 to have fixed in shop is bit steep.. Jan C.

OK Jan, can you download anything? 

Is it during the downloads that you are having trouble, or is it after when you try 
to run the programs you downloaded that you have problems?

Have picked up a win 95, now told to come back trade for win 95 upgrade or 98 upgrade to fix win explorer graphics problem and download cannot do. Message get is JRE-1_5_0_06-Windows-1586=P-1fTW. EXE file linked to missing Kernel 32.DLL Get Disk Free Space EXA when tried to down load Java. When in Opera brouser.. No graphics(oic. in any site or etc. Also messageCould not start application because Genuine Check File linked to missing file Kernel.32DLL When tried to download Win 95,told need to download win 95 upgrade because already win 95 have. Decided to not try uninstall current win 95 on comp. unless have for sure correct way to do. To chris cannot download any virus prot. or any thing but upgrades so far. Get message problem with setUPexe. If try to download a new internet as Aol, screensaver,etc. Get this message about DLL or Kernel 32 DLL. I can go into yahoo mail or my e mail,rec. mail or send. OK OK calm down. You're thrashing it sounds like, downloading all this different 
stuff. Don't download anything else right now. JUST STOP.

Kernel32.dll I do believe is the core of Windows 95, unless I'm mistaken. The errors 
your getting may be from what may be newer programs looking for the Windows 98 kernel32.dll.

The JRE is Java. 

The Windows 95 upgrade CD I do not believe will work if you already have Win95 installed. 
Its for upgrading from Windows 3.1 to 95. The Windows 98 upgrade CD would work but 
now it looks like you may have made a bit of a mess of things. The best thing to 
do now may be to format the HD and reinstall Windows 95 or put 98 on it. 

DO YOU HAVE THE WINDOWS 95 CD FOR THAT SYSTEM? Please list all the CDs and Floppy 
Disks that may have came with the system. We need to know what you have.

Thanks Chris. My daughter thinks can come and do this format hard drive and reinstall win 95. If does not work take it into shop in Spokane Valley.. But be careful to not mess it up any more than was when first turned it on. Have beenable to download all updates but some things could not. Still no pictures can see. Screensaver in display looks all white. As channel saver or pictures in a paper on line or advertisements. Cannot see any pictures of my daughters new baby in e mail either. But am downloading a reinstall internet explorer 5.5 as found how to do in forum list. Thanks for your advice. Chris, I can download everything to file but only certain things go thru without error message. As yahoo messenger,pc dr. and win updates. But most I get a DLL error message or Internet explorer problem, I have nearly 77 percent downloaded so far. See how goes if daughter gets over today,tonite to try a idea she has. Jan C.
