win95 troubles
Tried to install a program from a reputable company and am getting error starting
program message ''Winmm.dll is linked to missing export NTDLL.DLL:NtSetValueKey.
Tried to uninstall program but still getting windows explorer message that the program
has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. Details give 'Explorer
caused an exception message c06d007eH in module Kernal32.DLL at--etc.
It seems to mess up the active desktop but if I ignore the message I can still use
other programs like Word.
Would appreciate any suggestions
(Whats the significance of Kernal32.DLL?)

Hi Alan:
Are you sure your new program is designed to run
on Windows 95?
Check the side of the package under "System
Requirements."

win95 troubles
Hi Jerry,
Thanks for responding.
This is where I made a bubu! I should have clarified that---It's a win98 and upwards
program although it says within its text that it runs on 95. It runs ok on my XP
laptop but my 95 'workhorse' PC cannot connect to the Internet anymore.I can still
use Word if I move the error box to one side but switching between programs is sometimes
very slow. If I try to open an Acrobat PDF file it comes back with 'A device attached
to the system is not functioning'

I am having the somewhat the same problem. I get a message at work that says, "A
required .DLL file, WS2_32.DLL was not found." How do I get that file back into my
system so I can really use this machine?

Hi Aaron:
Finally! An easy question I can answer!
WS2_32.DLL was supplied by an update for Win95,
called "Windows Socket 2 Update".
You can still download it from the official
Microsoft site here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows95/downloads/contents/wuadmintools/s_wunetworkingtools/w95sockets2/
