Actually I wouldn't bother. If you using a comp that is running Win95 then its an
old machine. It probably doesn't have the speed or the MEMORY to run WinXP.
The WinXP CD is bootable. You need to check the boot sequence in the BIOS and change
it to boot up from your CD Rom first. Then start the comp up with the WinXP CD already
inserted.
Your CD maybe corrupt, is it a genuine one?

You could try running Winnt32.exe from the i386 folder on the CD.

Yes, I had the same impressions.
But if the disc is indeed defective then a customer could simply call Microsoft and
they would send out a new one. In the 1980s I had occasion to just call their customer
service and tell that a product distributed on 5¼" floppies in the 1.2 MB format
would not work with my machine because I had the 5¼" 360 KB format and the 3½" 1.44
MB but nothing in between. All I had to do was give them the registration number
over the phone and the new floppies arrived in a week at no extra charge. I can't
see why they would have changed their policy in the intervening years.
Unless it was purchased from one of those spammers such as those who frequent my
Yahoo ID.

Hi amber, you can't install XP on W95 as Keith said, there would'nt be enough ram.
What you should do is bring your PC to a technician and have him install W98 for
you. I should access the Forum for Win95 as often as possible, and read up on the
various articles. Good luck.
