i took an old pc added slave with win 98 also 2000 ,lots more cant get it to start up in anything but 95.its a packard bell pos but im learning or trying to learn thanks for your help

Hi Wayne:

Your computer is going to boot to whatever OS is
on the hard drive it sees first -- the one
designated "master."

Depending on your computer, designating "master"
or "slave" is done with cables and/or "dip
switches".

Another option is to put each OS in a separate
partition on one drive, and have a BOOT MANAGER
present you with a MENU each time you start your
computer, then you can select which OS you want
to boot to.  PARTITION MAGIC (and others) provide
such a utility in their arsenals.

Remember Win95 can only see FAT and FAT32 drives
and partitions, whereas Win2K can see NTFS too.
