A one time elderly neighbour whose computer (Win95)I used to manage has a problem with a web site he regularly uses. Whenever he logs on to www.bristolport.co.uk and the follows the links to Shipping Information and Forward Movements and Guest entry the site returns an "unavailable message". I have no problems entering using XP but does anyone have any ideas as to why he can no longer get access. He has been using this site for many years without any problems and it is the only site he accesses that gives him this problem.

Hi John:

I tried the site with my Win95-C and IE 5.5.

That site uses FLASH, but has a link marked "If
you don't have FLASH, click here for HTML
version." Clicking there only opened a new window
with the same page. I never got beyond that "You
don't have FLASH page."

Same thing happened when I tried OPERA 8.51.

Jerry

Wait! I CAN get to "Shipping Information/Forward
Movements" with some buttons at the very TOP of
the page (above the FLASH message). It's a big
long list of ship names and "loading grain."

Ask your neighbor to try typing this direct address in his
browser address bar:
http://www.bristolport.co.uk/dynamic/fwdmove.asp

Then, see if the buttons at the BOTTOM of that page work OK.

Jerry

Yes. I believe some sites will only support I.E. 6 or higher.

Thanks to everyone who has replied. The problem has been sorted by installing Firefox. This gets to the correct page without any problems. Thanks again John
