I get this message when I start up Windows 95 in a box with a close button. It does
not finish loading until I close this. I would like to fix the problem, but as usual
there is no "how" to fix instructions---only the WHAT.
"Progran Error" Your program is making invalid dynamic link to a .dll file.
THANKS FOR ANY COACHING TO HELP ME FIX THIS IS APPRECIATED.

Hi Robert:
First, we have to find out what's "calling" for
the DLL file. Start up your computer at the BOOT
MENU (turn on the power, and tap the F8 key once
per second until a black-and-white menu appears).
Select STEP-BY-STEP CONFIRMATION and press ENTER.
You'll be presented with a YES and NO option as
each driver is loaded. See which process is
trying to load when you get the error message, and
let us know what it is.
I'm not ruling out that this is part of (or a
remnant of) some sort of malware infection. Had
any trouble with spyware lately?

Jerry - I did as you instructed. The event happens only after I press the Y, before
the previous but last step---"Load All Windows Drivers"
and Window 95 starts to load
No spyware problems
Thanks,
Robert

Hi Jerry---Well after you had me run the test below, and the event did not happen
until I ran the install Windows drivers,---- I figured out that the driver that must
be causing me the problem is in the print arena, so I went to HP on the Web and got
the most current driver for the printer and downloaded it, and then installed this
new driver---It fixed the problem.
Thanks so much for coaching in the right direction to find a solution to the problem.
I did not know one had to keep the drivers current and updated too, if one wants
to use updated programs.
