I failled reinstalling windows 95

Hello everybody,
I messed up one school computer trying to reinstal win 95. POwer went off for 10
sec. durring copying files part and I could not restore the old 95. So, I decided
to format C. After asked to name the volume label I did not know what to do, so after
restart appeared the message:
I found afterwards from the boot sequence that it is only between C: and A:, so I
think that my win 95 instalation cd is useless.
I am sorry now for not making a start up disk to recover the old windows.
Can somebody help, please?

You'll need a boot floppy.

As well as making a boot disk, it would also be a good idea to copy the installation
files from the CD to a suitable folder on the hard disk and install from there. That
way you won't have to refer to the CD when adding hardware. If you have already
re-installed the operating system you can still copy the installation files to the
disk and point Windows at them when they're needed. Cheers, Chris

Thank you for advice, guys
I made a boot diskette that works, but during install it said that the version of
win 95 I have is newer. It needed the data from the old version, but I have formatted
the hard drive, and I do not have the original installation CD (it is a second hand
computer).
Can I get a win 95 CD compatible for boot95a.exe? I think this kind of OS is free.
Thanks for help.

If you use the boot disk purely for the purposes of booting, then copy the installation
files from the CD to the hard disk.... and then run the setup from the copied files
it shouldn't matter which boot disk you used. The boot disk can be used to provide
a simple environment to run the installer. Don't run the installer on the boot disk. Cheers, Chris

You can make a bootdisk for Win95-A:
http://bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm
Scroll down to "Windows 95 Original".

I have succeded.
I found an older version of win95 from august 1995. Then I installed the next one
I had from october 1996.
So, I could recover my old computer.
Thanks to all that helped.
God Bless You!
