sharon, it's possible that you forgot to "unclick" the mute selection on the slider
adjustment. try left clicking on the speaker icon and make sure the check mark is
not there. if it isn't, then right click on the icon and a window should appear w/
"open volume controls & adjust audio properties". choose open controls & make sure
the "mute all" or other mute "buttons" are not checked. it sounds simple, but these
things happen all the time! hope it works!
