James, I BELIEVE (but I'm not sure) that during WinZip setup it asks if you want WinZip to be the default application for viewing files of type .cab, etc. WinZip comes with an uninstaller. If you uninstall WinZip you should go back to your old Windows default settings. Then reinstall WinZip & be sure to NOT select WinZip as the default viewer. This is probably a lot easier than editing the registry. Even if it doesn't work, it should only take a few minutes, and trying it won't cause any harm. Good luck. Dave
