Thank you! I've never used regedit. It looks complicated. Some guy must have seen
my message and he e-mailed this to me: "Right click once on the NN-icon/Properties/Highlight
and remove each item in Network/Configuration....click ok and re-boot. No more icon
and no more logon screen---" I had already wondered about doing that, but when I
looked in Properties for the NN icon, there are (5) things in there that I don't
know what they are: 1:Client for Microsoft Networks; 2:Compac Netelligent 10/100
TX PCI Intel WOL UTP Controller; 3:Dial-Up Adapter; 4:TCP/IP -> Compac Netelligent
10/100 etc.; 5: TCP/PI -> Dial-Up Adapter. If I remove all these things without knowing
their purpose .... well, that seems sort of crazy. By the way, thanks so much for
pointing me to the Login Screen section -- that worked like a charm and I no longer
have that annoyance! :)
