This means I cannot reinstall Win98 SE the normal way, instead I use Symantec Ghost to reinstall the image of my computer when I received it from my dealer after checkup. (They couldn't tell me what they had done to fix it). I would be grateful for another way to fix it, knowing that not everyone has access to such a marvelous tool like Ghost.
