Here is the solution, just did it on a win98 machine.
Open the Registry Editor (REGEDIT.EXE).
Open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ Network\
Click on Network to highlight it
Export the registry file (Name it something like "Logon Backup")
Now it is safe to delete all the branches under the Network key.
You should have 2 folders, "Persistent" and "Recent"
Once they are deleted, reboot the machine.
Windows will either issue a logon screen with no user or pass.
If it does this, then type in a username and no password, then click ok.
Now you shouldn't have that annoying logon screen.
If windows does not issue a logon screen after the reboot, then it worked as well.
I hope that in conjunction with these other posts that you can accomplish this if
you have some of the other mentioned problems. Like, "Logon To NT Domain", etc..
Have fun:-P
