I have a question about Share an Internet Connection:
I have been having problems recently with ICS "breaking". We have a simple
network at home which works very well. However, the client machine
occasionally "loses" it's connection to the via the host. We have recently
reformatted both machines with a clean install of Win98SE to try to solve
this problem, which on this occasion solved nothing. I recently fixed this
last impasse by setting the IP's on both machines manually (192.168.0.n)
and pointing DNS on my machine (the client) to the host machine as well as
the DNS IP of my ISP. I also set the gateway to point to the host machine.
This all appears to be a convultuted way of getting ICS running as I don't
recall it being this hard to get on with when we first started using
Win98SE. I'd like to be able to find a resource (possibly URL) that will
show me how ICS works which will help me best troubleshoot it when it does
"break". TIA for any tips. Phil
