Hi Vernon
I created the file nohood.reg according to your instructions. When I double clicked
on it I got a message that it was not a registry file, or something like that.
However I have already been able to delete my Network Neighborhood icon from my desk
top by a procedure whch Larry sent me in several messages, and which I have summarized
below for the benefit of others who may want to use it.
Summarizing what Larry sent me in several messages:
Go to:
http://www.microsoft.com/ntworkstation/downloads/powertoys/networking/nttweakui.asp
Download Tweakui to any directory.
Go to the directory to which you downloaded it and double click on tweakui.exe.
It will create several files.
Right click on the file ending in .inf
Select install.
Close popup window in top right corner of your screen, if necessary
You can now delete the 3 or 4 files created by tweakui.exe
Go to your control panel
Click on the tweak icon
Uncheck "network neighborhood"
