I think my problem was I did a complete reformat and install with a ethernet card in place left over from when I was on RoadRunner and it just automatically assumed I was on a network. I have "Windows Logon" selected but I still am on a network until, get this, I make sure that my computer is set to restart and I log off and it comes back almost immediately with the normal configurations. I have tried uninstalling the entire log on connections and reassigning them to tcp/ip but still get the same result. What the heck, windows gets filled up with so much crap that I have most of what I need backed up on burned cd's. I think I might just do a total reformat and make sure the ethernet card is not in place. Any other ideas befor I go this radical route would be appreciated though. Loading all the crap and then updatind windows is a real pain. If I still had RoadRunner not so bad but dial up.....well you know. I am going to wait a while and see if you can come up with any other ideas but think eventually this is the only solution. I sure hope not! Thanks!
