Get the freeware utility "DRTCP" - as in Dr. TCP.
Can't remember the site, but a yahoo or google search will find it.
This nifty little piece of work will change the MTU setting for you from a menu-driven
form -- no need to REGEDIT if you're not comfortable with it.
