I too had faced this similar problem, all i had to do is reformat my system and the problem was solved. it was suprising to see that the problem continued after formatting in ur case. Firstly u will have 2 create a start up disk...ie. u must be able 2 access the CD ROM when u start from the disk...u create it by going to the control panel->add remove programs -> start up disk-> create disk try doing this press F8 when windows starts....and choose the command prompt option. or else boot from the start up disk floppy... and run "scanreg/fix" or "scanreg/restore" i dont remeber the command properly...or simply type "scanreg" if this doesnt solve the problem try re-partioning ur system... i hope u know how to partition ur system use "fdisk" to partition ur system.... before that make sure u back up ur data on a different hard disk. if u dont know how 2 partition...mail me at "riteshdas238@yahoo.co.in" i'll gladly help u out... after u partition ur hard drive...format it...
