To remove programs from the openwith... list in windows 2000 you open the registry
and navigate to the key "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts".
There you will find a list of extensions go to the extension where you want to alter
the "openwith..." from and select "openWithList" (duh :-) ). You will find the list
of programs for that extension and a string that's called "MRUList" this is the "Most
Recently Used List" which lists the order of programs, so beware that if you change
something that 1) this list still matches the rest and 2) the programs named a, b,
c, and so on start with a and the rest remains sequential without gaps. It's a bit
cryptic but if you see it you'll know what i mean.
