I recently did it on my son's XP computer. All you have to do is go into the BIOS and change the boot order so it will look for a floppy. Then use a win98 boot floppy to get to the A prompt. Once there, type format c: and when that is done, install win98. Now he has a :) instead of a :(, and if he decides to come to this forum, will be welcome with open arms.
