I assume that when you say Tweak, you mean TweakUI. A recent Windows Critical Update negated the hack that TweakUI performs. You can be assured that removing the registry entries was what fixed your annoyance, not re-running TweakUI. (let's face it, it's not a problem, it's merely an annoyance to some, and a pretty trivial one at that) Possibly there was a reboot somewhere in the sequence of events that you didn't take into account. That entire article needs to be updated because of this, but I'll be surprised if that happens - they're probably too busy with XP annoyances.
