why don't we try this ?
when everything else fails, start the Internet Connection Wizard or go to
the Dial Up Network folder and click on the "Make New Connection" icon;
to make a new "account"; When you get to the first page, select
"i want to set up an account manually"; from there, all you need is the
local dial up number and your user name and password; When it asks
for a "name" for the new account, name it Number 2, or whatever you
want to call it; Then you'll get to the finish and it will ask "do you want
to connect now?" select NO and just close the wizard.
Now back to your Dial Up Network folder, open it, you should have the
old account icon, the new account icon, and the "Make New Connection"
icon; right ?
Now double click on the NEW account icon and see what happens;
If you are able to connect, the old account is corrupted, just delete it.
if not, your ISP is blocking you. Call them up and find out why.
(did you pay your bill ?).
also, for the future, try www.ispwest.com. and open a 15 day free trial
ISP account. I bet you'll like it.
